OMPT is a non-profit organization which provides government and civil organizations from all over the world with cutting edge video technology, equipment and the training to improve messaging, reach and impact. OMPT had a vision to develop a portable projector for remote communities. The NGO asked us to develop a concept design and create a professional illustration for a portable projector. The key design considerations were: size, efficiency, and resistance to water, dust and drops – ensuring that its usability isn’t compromised by the environmental conditions at the location of use.
We gathered input from OMPT which highlighted the need for a view of the actual projector, places for buttons and ports, and included surface details. After revision one, we modified the original drawing based on client feedback and made space for a detachable speaker and created an alternative design which incorporates a power drill battery.
During the project, we had multiple feedback sessions with OMPT. These helped to bring a handful of changes to the original design. We modified the design carefully according to the feedback gathered and were able to deliver successfully to meet the expectations of OMPT.
